  PLASTIC PRESSURE PIPING SYSTEMS
PE PIPES, IN COILS
WHAT DO THE NUMBERS AFTER PE STAND FOR?
The first PE pipes were divided into LDPE, MDPE, and HDPE, low, middle and high density. In the 1990s, the designation was standardised to PE40, PE80, and PE100.
PE 40, the soft PE for inserting drippers and capillary. The only PE pipe which is so elastic, it closes around the insert, if the punch is well done.
PE 80, the old stiff PE but changed to PE100 as the raw material of PE 100 is 1,25x stronger due to the improved quality of the raw material. For the same pressure you only need 80% from the wall thickness. It also has better performance as the internal diameter is bigger.
WHAT DOES THE COLOR OF THE LINES ON THE PE PIPE MEAN?
Potable water Wastewater from toilets Rainwater
Gas
WHAT DOES SDR MEAN AND WHAT DO THE NUMBERS AFTER SDR STAND FOR?
SDR is the relation between wall thickness and outside diameter.
